Kathi & Joe { Jumby Bay Resort }
Kathi and Joe are two of the nicest people I ever met. A wedding on the beach itself is definitely a highlight, but a wedding on the beach of Jumby Bay? Wow!
Two or three words about the Island and the Resort. Jumby Bay is a private Island in the West Indies near Antigua (Caribbean). A small ferry takes you from Antigua right to the long wooden dock, where someone from the resort is already waiting to greet you with a smile and a rum cocktail. The island is small and exclusive, you can explore it easily by bike within a few hours. Besides the luxury resort there are only vacation homes of VIP’s on the island. So Jumby Bay is undoubtedly a one-of-a-kind experience (even for people who have been to a lot of top hotels and places).
On the evening before the wedding Kathi & Joe had a barbecue for all their friends and families right on the beach. During cocktails and grilled lobster we got the chance to chat about the next day, which got me even more excited (as if that was at all possible ).
Jumby Bay Resort style we started the next day with Kathi’s Getting Ready at a wonderful private villa located right on the beach. The best friend and kids helped her getting dressed, while sipping champagne and eating white-chocolate-covered strawberries. Though she had a beach wedding, Kathi did not want to sacrifice getting nice shoes for the occasion. And so she did. 2 pair of Manolo Blahnik’s: The classic blue heels, as known from Sex and the City, and a matching pair of flats for walking in the sand. Thats what I call perfectly prepared!
A beach wedding on Jumby Bay
The Ceremony on the white beach during sunset was magical. The guests witnessed a super happy couple exchanging rings and lots of hugs and kisses with the Caribbean sea in the background. A sign said „Shoes Optional“, which everyone took to heart.
After celebrating the Newlyweds with 1-2 cocktails I got the opportunity to take some wedding photos with just the two of them, while the last rays of sunlight coloured the sky and sea in the most amazing colours you’ll ever see. The perfect time for creative wedding photography. And look at Joe in these photos! That is what pure happiness looks like.
A Caribbean Party Night
The Jumby Bay Resort has several restaurants and so after cocktails at the Pool Grille we made our way to the Estate House. Wonderful decorations, a dream of a wedding cake and five star dinner were already waiting for us. During their first dance under the Caribbean sky you could see how crazy in love Kathi and Joe are. A real „aaawwww“ moment! So we all danced and enjoyed the warm night with cool drinks in hand.
On the next day we ended this incredible wedding adventure on a sunset sail cruise around Jumby Bay Island. What a weekend!
My dearest Kathi & Joe, I cannot thank you enough for making me a part of your amazing wedding weekend. Your guys are wonderful, lovely and so kind. As a couple you are a true inspiration and I am sure your wedding will be an exceptional memory in all lives of the people, who were lucky enough to celebrate that day with you on this wonderful Island.
